Mirror Mirror on the wall…Who’s the most precious of them all ?

“the voices”

Whenever my mother would find me in an ocean of depressing thoughts, she would sense the agony and remind me of the universal truth saying,

Son, There are two types of people in this world, One who come as Blessings and the other who come as Lessons. “

Zombie: Song by Dolores O’Riordan

To my curious reader, do you ever pay attention to your internal voices?

When i look back in time and assess myself, i can tell you for sure that there has not been much change in my Personality, BUT a significant change in my Self Image, in a positive way!

Each of us have an internal story, ongoing dialogues, the voices in our Head. As a survivor of PTSD (Post traumatic stress disorder) victim, i can tell you for sure, most of the internal voices seem gruesome.

Depression is a Beast, it does not happen overnight BUT can be TAMED !

Depression is an unfortunate event that may lead to another and so on until one breaks…..

It is a classic example that follows the Hooks’s Law of Elasticity — within elastic limits, stress ∝ strain (the symbol means directly proportional to), courtesy Physics. The problem is not with the external characters or situation that cause the stress, it is WE who fall prey to.

So what causes depression? Each of us have different needs, wants, aspirations…but there will just be that one thing above ALL that will be so very dear to you, its called Passion that defines your Self Image which is built over years. With Passion, comes Expectations which is humane. So what hurts our expectations? Some events include Death, Betrayal, Workplace Abuse, False acquisitions, Discrimination etc. When an unfortunate event/s gets triggered either naturally and in most cases the people we believe in Stab us, depending on individual Tolerance threshold, WE either Take or Break! When this Elasticity of Tolerance Breaks, the medical science term the mental condition as “Depression”. Unfortunately, It does not end here! As human being the condition varies with degrees of pain, resulting in Isolation, hibernation, addictions and to something as extreme as Suicide.

What did i do that can help YOU? Before i offer any advice, let me tell you, for sure, the suffering could be demonizing for many, however steps to recovery would be worth every dime.

I can for sure, Assure YOU, Your time will change and YOU WILL carve your success story and who knows, someday you too will be an inspiration to share your story with our fellow brothers and sisters fighting depression!

Let me confess, it took me 18 months to recovery. The truth is nothing and no one can replace your pain, except YOU ! But the small steps that form into habits, i share with you below, will hopefully help you recover faster and emerge stronger. Depression attacks the Brain and that too both the visceral and emotional parts. It kills your Sleep, inducing maximum human damage. To overcome this, you need to CHEAT (Trust me, nothing wrong here) our little brain to seek permission following below tiny steps everyday.

10 daily things that will help your recovery through the Power of HABIT:

  1. GO GOOH (Get out of your home) — Go Walk, Jog, Run..
  2. Learn a new skill (music, language, cooking, writing, just anything..)
  3. Plantation (Raise even one plant and see them grow) — Nature HEALS
  4. Physical Volunteering (if possible, best time to give back to the society)
  5. Clean your house (the saying Cleanliness is next to Godliness really works)
  6. Professional social network (LinkedIn) to establish inspiring connections
  7. Refrain Toxicity (certain foods, drinks, drugs, people, social sites)
  8. If you are lucky, try to be with your parents & pets (unconditional support)
  9. Mediate if you can — Embrace the invisible force
  10. DO NOT hesitate to seek professional medical help

I admit the above is easier said than done, but trust me —

Madness is like gravity, all it needs is a little push

Please, at least TRY, Give it a little push to make above your Daily Dose

The Truth is “ You are NEVER Alone ! ”

YOU are much more stronger than anyone thinks !

You know what? I do not consider myself successful, but i am Proud to be a Survivor, adaptive and evolved over time, SO MUST YOU.

Like me, i want you to listen carefully to your internal voices and carve your own success story. With experience you will make better judgments in life and in case you still fall prey, it is OK. Simply GET UP, MOVE ON AND FIGHT IT.

These voices can act as a Barometer for determining the possibility of success

Focus on the journey and not on the Destination.

Once YOU have Bounced back, WE have a different and a A BIGGER MISSION to accomplish in hand……”Fight AGAINST Injustice”
