Dear Native, You disowned me like a pearl disowns its Oyster !

It’s early March 2020 and i am in my native place, South of Karnataka, India with excitement to script a new chapter with a new employment, 700 miles away from My Home, Mumbai. Yes, you heard it right — Mumbai, state of Maharashtra, India. Thanks to Covid 19, and my sweet home, is no more the “Business Hub of India”, it is projected as the “Virus Hub of India”. Not by me, but by the discriminators, the unsecured, low minded, irrational people outside the state of Maharashtra going by media projecting the state numbers when the overall percentage of testing is less than 1% of the total population till date. It is the same group of hypocrites who once dreamt of and made a living out of the Bollywood hub of India, Mumbai.

I have pen down my my journey of last 2 months in the form of poem and i ain’t a poet but i thank you for your love, i enjoyed scripting it.

Inside, the room is 33 degree Celsius

This room has little to no ventilation

The day feels like night

The room has air but no circulation

The fan seems to be in motion

Family of many but they have no talk time

On the floor I manage irregular sleep

My new buddies, the ants, mosquitoes, bugs…

If lucky someday there is Mr.Cockroach

Food is in abundance but I ain’t feeling hungry

They misunderstood Social distancing

I misunderstood Relationships…

Hello…Hello…Hello is there anybody IN there?

contd…

Outside, we are declared Green

But Discrimination paints the city Black

The eyes look into me with Suspicion

The eyes look into me with Disgust

The eyes look into me as a Virus

So many outside, with no talk time inside

Government busy over self image

Police busy over government orders

Suffocation is the new norm

Hello…Hello…Hello is there anybody OUT there?

I Feel “Comfortably NUMB” !

To,

Covid-19

Wuhan, China

No matter what people think about you, i will always be grateful to you, for you have shown true colors of my Native place, Blood Relationships and mankind at large. It is a very well deserved slap across my face. I Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

In addition, May i request you to kindly transmit my message to all the people standing against Mumbai, India.

I thank my Native Place wholeheartedly for disowning me .

However i must confess this today…

I have and will always be an Indian first and a proud Mumbaikar second.

I was and will always be a native of Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Goodbye!

Sincerely, KB

Mumbai, India

Jai Maharashtra !

Jai Maharashtra
